Coconut oil is one of those incredibly versatile products which can be used for more than just cooking.

Antibacterial, anti-fungal, intensely hydrating and a great healing agent, coconut oil is an excellent addition to your skin and bodycare routine.

Kelapa Organics is a Melbourne based business founded Adam Neilands and his mum Glenyce.

Their skin, body and hair products are 100% natural and Australian Certified Organic and designed for people with skin sensitivities.

Kelapa was created from a real life passion for helping people combined with our passion for nature and all things natural. We seek to provide a healthy and natural alternative to main stream products which are often predominately chemical and synthetic based.

The Products

The Kelapa range is coconut oil based, cocktailed with natural nourishing oils such as jojoba, rosehip and almond. They’re designed for people with skin sensitivities and will suit most skin types.

Because my skin has been freaking out a little with change in seasons, I trialled products from the hair and body range.

If you’ve followed me for awhile you’ll know I’m pretty loyal to Dr Bronner’s body wash, but the Kelapa Coconut and Sweet Orange Wash is a serious contender. It foams up really well for a natural wash with no SLS and left my skin feeling really hydrated. I’ve been using it since and I’ve noticed my tanning moisturiser spreads more evenly after I’ve used the wash. It leaves a light film on the skin after you step out of the shower. If you normally use gel washes, this may feel a little strange but you do get used to it and it;s great for keeping your skin hydrated and looking smooth

I also tried the shampoo and conditioner. They both smell really lovely, it’s a subtle coconut, tropical, smell but not to overpowering. The shampoo foams up well and cleaned my hair with two wash and rinses. The conditioner is really thick and only a little is needed. I have super thick, waist length hair and I anticipate the bottle lasting several months. It left my hair incredibly soft and shiny. See the video below.
