Is it sustainable?
It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s a fantastic start. Despite incremental changes toward comfort and sustainability, over the past 150 years, the denim industry has had just a handful of groundbreaking innovations. Indigood is a game-changer in the denim industry, and Wrangler is making great strides with implementing less wasteful manufacturing techniques. This process substantially minimises the harmful environmental impact which comes from traditional denim dyeing.
Wrangler’s sustainability goals also include:
- Conserving 5.5 billion liters of water at owned and operated facilities by 2020
- Using 100% preferred chemistry throughout our supply chain by 2020
- Powering all owned and operated facilities with 100% renewable electricity by 2025
- Sourcing 100% sustainable cotton by 2025
For now, Indigood has been used for Wrangler’s Icons collection, but the technology will soon be rolled out across the rest of the ranges so that “sustainable products aren’t a choice between basic needs and doing the right thing”.
