If you’ve followed The Green Hub for a while now, you would know that I have brought most of my beauty and cleaning products (and our Bokashi!) from Biome for the last two years.
Biome is a Brisbane based business with four physical stores but do a roaring trade online as well. It was when I lived in Sydney that I first started using the online store.
Biome have been around since 2003, one of the first stores offering a huge range of eco-friendly solutions for your home and lifestyle. They were the first Australian retailer to receive a B-Corp certification and have recently become almost 100% palm oil free (some products still contain RSPO Certified palm oil).
They adhere to incredibly strict standards and go to exhaustive lengths to ensure every product they sell is good for you, good for the planet and kind to animals.
When they reached out and asked me to stop by and test out their new Naked Beauty Bar in Balmoral, I was quite excited to try my hand a little DIY. Especially when I had an entire counter full of lovely natural ingredients at my disposal!

Biome Naked Beauty Bar
The Naked Beauty Bar is a new addition to Biome and only available in their Balmoral store for now, but they do plan to introduce it to their other physical stores in the very near future.
The beauty bar is a great way to get to know what ingredients go into our skincare and it’s a package free option for those wanting to reduce plastic consumption or live zero waste. They have reusable jars in store available to purchase or you can bring your own to use.
The bar has around 30 ingredients and a book of recipes to help you make everything from body scrubs and lotions to face cleansers. I chose the ingredients for the lavender and peppermint lip balm and the honey and clay face mask.
I left with a bag full of beautiful natural skincare ingredients ready to make my own products at home! I’ll have the DIY for both these products up in another post.
I received a gift voucher to use in store in exchange for this article.
