McDonalds Is Trialling A New Burger – Meet The McVegan

Kate Hall

I’m hungry, let’s stop into McDonalds for a McVegan, shall we? … Words you never thought you’d hear in a million years.

Made with a soy patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, vegan sauce, minus the cheese, McDonalds have listened to the growing rise of veganism and are attempting to win over the hearts of hungry animal-conscious customers.

Finland was the first to try this new phenomenon on the 4th of October.

The rest of the world look on with hungry eyes, wondering if the makers of the infamous Big Mac can tackle this meatless challenge with success.

So far so good, is the feedback to date.

The McVegan will be tested as it hits the homeland of burgers and tackles the USA- launch date yet to be released.

Vegan lovers around the world are sceptically rejoicing, and rightly so, as McDonalds, known for its beefy Big Macs, may have to gain some trust before they win them over.

Whether the McVegan is a major flop or takes off and encourages healthier eating, at least the golden arches have listened to the people.

Would you try it?

I live and breathe sustainable living and ethical fashion. This alternative way of consuming and existing dominates my every waking moment- and sometimes more. Ethical fashion and living are no longer my hobbies, it has become my mission... to change the future of fast fashion and the way we consume. My husband and I strive to live a zero-waste lifestyle, live at thrift stores, and always look to 'up-cycle' rather than throw out. Eco-living is not a choice for me, it's in my blood, and I am trying with all my power for it to be the new 'norm'.
