New Zealand’s Beautiful North Island

Kira Simpson

Dave and I recently hopped across the ditch to visit our neighbours and spent ten days exploring New Zealand’s North Island. We flew into Auckland and drove down to the Hawkes Bay region, coming back up via Hamilton.

Turns out the North Island is HUGE! So we only tackled a small portion of it.

Despite the fact it rained nearly every day we still manged to visit a beautiful organic winery on Waiheke Island, got lost on Whakarewarewa Forrest, relaxed (ie drank lots of wine) in Hawkes Bay and fulfilled this nerds dream of visiting Hobbiton.
